How VenaSeal Works.

VenaSeal works by delivering a small amount of specially formulated medical adhesive to the diseased vein by way of a needle injection. The adhesive permanently seals the vein so blood is rerouted through healthy veins nearby. Safe and effective, VenaSeal is proven to provide significant improvement to quality of life. By comparison, patients treated with VenaSeal experience less pain and bruising compared to other vein treatments.

The VenaSeal Experience.

During your VenaSeal treatment, you may experience some minor pain or stinging with a needle stick to numb the site where your doctor will access your vein. Once the area is numb, your doctor will insert the catheter into your leg. You will be numb, but it’s common to feel some pressure as your doctor places the catheter in your vein. Once the catheter is in the correct place within the diseased vein your doctor will begin to deliver small amounts of the special VenaSeal adhesive. You may feel a mild sensation of pulling as the VenaSeal adhesive activates inside your vein.

After your VenaSeal treatment, your doctor will place a small bandage over the treatment site. You’ll then be taken to a recovery area to rest and review follow-up and at-home recovery care as needed. Most patients can return to normal activity almost immediately, but your doctor will help you determine when it is safe to do so.
